On Wednesday 6, 2021 Facebook announced the redesign of Facebook Pages to make it easier for creators to build their community and achieve their business goals. A big change in the Facebook page experience is the removal of the “LIKE” button, which will solely focus on followers and simplify the way people connect to their favorite pages.
Here are some highlights of the new Facebook page experience:
- Redesigned layout, simpler and more intuitive
- Dedicated news feed for discovering and engaging in conversations, following trends, engaging with peers and fans
- Easy navigation between personal profile and pages
- Updated task-based admin controls that give trusted page administrators full control or partial access
- Actionable insights and more relevant notifications
- Security and integrity features to detect spam content and impersonator accounts
“Unlike likes, Followers to a page are people who can receive updates from Pages, which helps give public figures a better indication of their fan base,” says Facebook. The changes will give creators a better indication of how many people are getting updates from their pages.
Other updates will include a new intuitive layout, a dedicated news feed, easier navigation between a personal profile and pages, actionable insights, security features, and a new feature that allows creators to host interesting questions / answers to their followers.
The Q&A update will be similar to how users interact with their Instagram fans when they ask questions in Stories. This feature will help creators talk to their Facebook followers about topics that interest their fans in a fun and engaging way.
One more notable change is that pages will receive their own news feed. This means that the page itself can participate in conversations as a public figure or brand, follow trends, and interact with its fans.
This dedicated news feed will also suggest other public figures, pages, groups, and trending content that the page or public figure will interact with. This feature could benefit brands, advertisers and influencers when launching new products and brand announcements.
“We want Facebook to be a safe place to connect with fans, so we’ve improved our ability to detect activity that isn’t allowed on our platform including hate speech, violent, sexual or spammy content and impersonation,” Facebook says.
This is another notable update about the new safety and integrity features, which make it easier for page creators to identify posts and comments from genuine pages and profiles.
The social network will begin rolling out updates to all pages in the coming months
